I've noticed that people waste bbzzdd's bandwidth by uploading large pics.
Even worse, pics look bad when they're automatically resized in HTML.

O.K. This program automatically supports English!!!

The benefist of this program are:

1. Really easy to resize a pic as well as large amount of pics.
2. Supports bicubic resizing algorithm for best anti-alaising effect
3. Can add your own stamps(signatures, either letter or pics) on pics
4. Supports various effects such as Blur,Sharpen(Unsharp Mask!!!),Emboss, Auto Level, Auto contrast, Grayscale, Contrast, Brightness adjustment.
5. Tons of Frames to choose from!
6. It's FREE.

Again, this program is really damn easy to use and you'll notice how much your pics look better by applying Autocontrast/sharpen effects as well as step by step contrast/brightness adjustment.

To download, go to http://blog.dreamwiz.com/media/folderli...id=photoworks&folder=1&list_id=1666929
then click the orange letters that say 'photoworks v1.5' in gray box.
(or http://andojung.com/photoWORKS/)

For best result. Try these settings : resizing with bicubic algorithm/sharpen level 2/ Auto Contrast/Contrast level 2. It does make a huge difference. You get photoshop level of adjustment with this simple/easy program.

P.S : Here is an example.

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/deadtrees/mac.jpg

After photoworks,

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/deadtrees/macresized.jpg

After photoworks, with letter stamps/ pic. stamp/ frame (Photoworks provide more than 100 built-in frames)

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/deadtrees/mac2.jpg

Another example with different frame

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/deadtrees/mac3.jpg

One more with different frame/stamp location/font

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/deadtrees/mac5.jpg

(Even photoshop doesn't have this step-by-step resize algorithm; you have to do it manually or through a macro. Let's say we have a 1600x1200 image. If you resize it to 640x480, it'll just be resized from 1600x1200 'straight', giving it jagged looking border even with bicubic algorithm. However, Photoworks takes steps from 1600x1200, 1024xwhatever, 800x600, then 640x480 with bicubic algorithm thus creating less jagged borders)

Simply because Picasa sucks when compared to photoworks.
Just give photoworks a try and you'll notice why.
Photoworks has far more important effects and it's a decade faster than picasa not to mention photoworks is more slim.

I personally don't even use picasa. I like the built in windows viewer and mspaint for image resizing

Photoshop is, of course, far better but it's a lot bigger and takes more time.
Unless you're making very detailed adjustment, phoworks is easier/faster to use.
And, photoworks' batch processing function is a lot fater/easier than photoshop's action function.

Mspaint sucks! It's simple as that. Just give photowork's a try. Try resizing pics with bicubic algorithm/sharpen level 2/ Auto Contrast/Contrast level 2. It does make a huge difference.

? mspaint rocks

give me an image, I'll resize the picture in mspaint and you use your program and lets compare the file size/image quality. should be interesting either way

Why don't you just give photoworks a try? Try it to see how it's just damn easy to use and looks good. Once you setup the settings, all you need to do is a single click.

Image. Make it 640 pixels wide, and we can compare it to mine. Post here when resized.

LOL. /me looks at screenshot you posted and shudders!. Picasa might not have the best effects, but their interface and ease of use kicks ass, and resizing algorithm is fine. Better than me learning Korean.

Once you setup the settings in photoworks, all you need to do is a single click. Open a program, click once and you're done. Can it get any easier than that?
Those instructions are there when you set it up for the 1st time. After that, it's all done.

Say you're comapring AMD and Intel CPUs, you wouldn't compare those chips by running pacman in DOS, would you?
Say you're comparing ATI and Nvidia video cards, you wouldn't compare those video cards by going on DOS and looking at blinking coursors, would you?

The image still looks bad when done in php code not to mention php code doesn't have effects that photoworks provide. Think of photoworks as simple version of photoshop with limited yet most useful functions.

Are you saying that it's easier for an image resizing algorithm to operate on certain images based on thier content? Do you have even the slightest hint of a clue as to how these things work?

What I mean is that I want a real pic. comparsion instead of simple graphics. Any kind of programs won't have problem resizing/adjusting your sample. If it was only about resizing, I guess that simple screen capture would work as we you can see anti-aliasing effect, but there are more important stuffs to consider when it's about a REAL pic.
