So I have the ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO motherboard and a AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE

The mobo came with a dvd that had softwares: AMD overdrive, Turbo V and AI Suite

Do you recommend me using one of these softwares or doing it manually in the BIOS?

Are there pros and cons and does it really make a difference?

BIOS, every time. At least that's how I've always done it.

What you can do, is use the software to raise the multiplier, then when you find the sweet spot, input those in the BIOS. You would have to run overdrive every time you wanted the OC otherwise.

and I would use AMD overdrive.

use software to see how far you can push the over clocking,

than change it on BIOS so you don't have to keep restarting PC over and over to see if it's stable or not.
