Use separate DVD and CD burners?

Just curious if most people now still install separate DVDR/W and CDRW burners in their PC to take advantage of the extra speed a CD only burner might have burning CDs (or some other reason), or do most just use the DVDR/W drives to burn CDs now?

Or do many have sep. DVDROM and DVDR/W drives for duping DVDs?

Back when there was a price difference I used to use my DVD burner only for writing and a DVD-ROM for all reading, but even the top end burners now are so dirt cheap I just use them exclusively. All three of my optical drives are DVD burners.

I agree with YBS1. I just use 2 DVD burners and can see no need for a cd/rw.

I still use my decrepit CD-RW for burning and playing CD's. I want to make as much use as possible out of its life. Real stingy.

i use a combo drive to rip DVD's and burn CD-R's and use my plextor 716A to burn DVD's. the combo drive has been modified with a hacked firmware for faster ripping.

I use a reader and a burner but see nothing wrong with using two burners..

I use DVD/CD ROM drives internally, and have 4 external DVD burners that will also burn CDRs.

my $35 DVD-Burner burns CD's at 48x. it doesn't burn at 52x, but it's fast enough, no?
