Sorry to ask so many questions but I want to get this right. I have the 1.33 Tbird and the Thermalright SK6 heatsink. The sink comes with this little pad with these instructions; "Place Gelvet® thermal pad on to the center of the heat sink base". I also bought some Arctic Silver II. Which should I use? My chip information sheet says "If you heatsink/fan requires the use of thermal compound us a single drop about the size of a pin head only on the top of the blue-green copre. Do not let any compound touch the brownish grey surface of the CPU."
The Arctic Silver site gives these instructions: http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_silver_instructions.htm

Any advice before I tackle tomorrow AM?

I would try the pad just because it does not get messy.
If you chose to go with the AS (since you bought it, why not), use that clear scotch tape to cover the CPU on all 4 sides of the core (lay it on the chip) as to protect the stuff when you wipe it off ever. Do not get any tape on the core (duh!) or the pads (not as important but still dont do it!).

Arctic silver can get annoying realll fast if you clean it off a lot. One tip I would do is write down all the core info on a notecard and put it on the bottom of your case in case you ever need it (lame pun not intended!)
