Use Logitech MX700 Forward/Back buttons to change songs in Winamp

I have a Logitech MX700 mouse, and I love the forward and back buttons of the side of the mouse. It would be really handy to be able to alt-tab to Winamp and hit the forward button for the next song, or back to restart the current song.

Are there any plugins out there that can handle this, or be configured to handle this? How hard would it be for me to write my own simple plugin to do this? I have basic/intermediate knowledge of C++ and Java, but I can copy paste and adapt very well.

OK, it sorta works.

It works even when Winamp isn't focused. Which unfortunately means I change songs everytime I go forward/back in my browser 🙁

Anyone else on help writing my own plugin?

Doesn't Mouseware have an option like "remap keys for application X"? If so, set everything to default and just tag Winamp for the forward/back keys.

Not that I could find. I could remap it to a keystroke and use global winamp hotkeys, but then I've still managed to make the buttons useless for browsing.

you know, when the playlist window is in small mode, just use the wheel to scroll between songs...it works on the classic skin, the other skins wont let you do this tho i think

i just use multimedia ms keyboard🙂 aren't the zxcvb keys bound to winamps playback functions? courrse that wouldn't help with focus problems
