use images.anandtech.com for icons?

Hey Zuni, do you think it'd be possible to set up the forum to use images.anandtech.com instead of forums.anandtech.com for the icons? This might releive the forum servers some, and I know for sure that it would speed things up for me.

There are no speed problems with icons thats your end bud. These servers handle icons just fine.

There was recently some discussion that the servers had been slowing down, but I guess that's not the case. Admittedly I do have a slow connection, but I actually could improve things on my end by permanently caching all data from images.anandtech.com...can't do that with forums.anandtech.com since it's dynamic.

The forums could use another server, and that is being discussed. These forums are doing an insane amount of traffic throughout the course of a day. Caching works fine for me in IE,NS.

Netscape checks the image every time to see if it's changed, so there's no real time saving with it's cache. I imagine it's similar with IE. I have to have it set to check every time for other reasons.
If it's a big deal to make the icons load from images.anandtech.com then don't worry about it, but if it's just the same to you could you please set it up that way? I know the icons are already there.

Glad to hear that an additional server might be in the works as well.
