I'm looking for a program that doesn't use much resources that would allow me to install on a windows machine and utilize that computers internet as a proxy.

for instance.. I could install it on my home PC and when i'm at work I could broadcast my home IP by configuring my laptops browsers proxy settings.

I'm also wanting to install this program on one of my friends laptops so I can switch between my own IP and their IP while at home.. so I need an actual program to install. I can't just configure my router.

I think I used CCProxy to accomplish this before..

I also found this: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-get-into-blocked-websites-in-school-with-freeproxy/ ..it's using the program FreeProxy by handcraftedsoftware

has anyone used either of these 2 programs to accomplish this.. or do you know of another program that might meet my needs better without using as much resources? I'm literally only going to be using it as a proxy browsing websites.. won't be downloading anything when using the proxy.

I can't think of many reasons to do this...

And the ones that I can think of don't seem legitimate...

As for the "how" to do it... I'm not sure of that at all.

I've done it using privoxy. More specifically, I've used privoxy, tunneled through a hamachi vpn so that everything remains secure and private.

I use freeproxy at work to do webfiltering for some people that get very limited webaccess and it works pretty good, I havent used it with user accounts yet though

one of the search results i found was using hamachi and privoxy as well.. i might try that out.. how much process power does hamachi use normally?
