Use DOS for partition?

I have heard i can go into DOS and make a partition??,,,I want to have a dual boot with win98se and win2000,,,if i can do it the DOS way,,,could someone explain how??,,tyia

Yes, you can, with FDISK.

What is your existing partition setup?

how many hard drives and size of each do U have and
what OS are U running now?
I have one hard drive 10 gig,,i would like to allocate 2 or 3 gig to """other""" and i am running XP pro,,,tyia

If you want to dual boot & still have an easy life setting it up then I suggest you start from scratch, make at least 2 partitions, install win98 on C then install win2k on any other partition.
you'll get the win2k bootloader to choose which OS you want to boot with. :)

wow,,i got 90 already myself. can tell i am a relative newbie with a 1001 questions.

wow,,check this out,,this is my second day of having win-xp pro,,,and a box pops up,saying this

CANNOT COMPLETE THE AUTOMATIC UPDATES SETUP WIZARD

and then it goes on to say this>

WINDOWS RECOGNIZES WHEN YOU ARE ONLINE AND USES YOUR
INTERNET CONNECTION TO SEARCH FOR DOWNLOADS FROM THE WINDOWS UPDATE WEB SITE . ( recognizes when i am online?,,,does it mean it's time to check in with the mothership?lol,,) A MESSAGE APPEARS ON YOUR DESKTOP TO LET YOU KNOW WHEN UPDATES ARE AVAILEBLE ( so,it's like this?....time for serial# 2211 pok 9074 lknp , to check-in,,) just babbling i guess been along day

bacillus, is it advisable for me to turn off the upgrade systems, or just leave it ?,,,but if i can get rid of it with no harm,,i will,,ty-again

I personally disabled the automatic windows updating & periodically go to the update site to check for updates & choose the ones I want. the choice is yours! :)
