Definitely worth it and they won't conflict. You can run Malwarebytes on demand and unless you buy it, it doesn't run in the background.

I use Nortons IS as my primary protection. On recommends I read on this board, I downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes several weeks back. In the last year, Nortons has only twice reported finding anything. But nothing for many months.

To run Malwarebytes I temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus. I also make sure my laptop is offline. I've run Malwarebytes 4 times. So far it hasn't found anything. Makes me feel marginally better about Nortons, I think. But who knows.

I use Emsisoft anti-malware for realtime protection. I also have MalwareBytes free and Hitman Pro free as on demand 2nd opinion scanners and to manually scan everything I download before it gets touched. In addition the file gets uploaded to virustotal.

If you have ever hunted malware and uploaded files to virustotal you would know not to trust just one scanner's opinion. It's always better to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion especially when it costs nothing but your time.

The Avast is for antivirus and Malwarebytes is for adware/ malware. Adwcleaner is another Malware scanner that has a faster (5 to 10 minutes) scan time.

I keep one and only one antivirus active. If I suspect a problem I scan with Adwcleaner first and then Malwarebytes if problems persist. Bleepingcomputer has been a solid site for such downloads for a long time.

Seriously though, Malwarebytes is more adept at cleaning up than any "suite" of security I've seen and is pretty damn cost effective. Luckily I have not seen any conflicts and MBAM almost never identifies false positives. It is nuts to not have it handy for any system IMO. Adwcleaner is a great pre-screen to remove items quickly and make MBAM scan more quickly.

I'm also using Avast + Malwarebytes, and I did not encounter any problem until now, coupled with Adblock Plus, you should be pretty safe surfing the internet.

I run WSE and MBAM actively, with SuperAntiSpyware and SpyBot on demand. I used to have SAS active, but found MBAM better, so bought a lifetime license and swapped my SAS lifetime license to another (less critical) PC and just use the free version on demand.

Same. I use it on about 300 machines just fine, no conflicts to date!

I have been using Kaspersky + Malwarebytes as an on demand scanner for a long time the combo works well.

I have also been testing HitManPro 64bit which is designed to be a secondary scanner, I like it a lot, and it is very fast and has no problems coexisting with Kaspersky either.
