thank you Washington. Did what we couldn't.
Hopefully this can be the start of the decline for the media loving to give a good stroking to USC's ego.
No, it just shows how strong the Pac-10 is.
We ended the last season 5-0 in bowl games.
Out of conference wins so far this year:
Ohio State
Utah
Tennessee
Minnesota
Look for USC to spank the crap out of Notre Dame later in the year. Look for Washington to do the same.
they barely escaped Columbus with a win, with OSU handing them a TD with terrible defense on that final drive. Granted, that's how a lot of games go down, but the point being, OSU basically put a stop to USC, and beat the spread. USC will lose another game this season.
Ohio State and Florida in the NCG!!!

I'd like for them to make another stab at the NCG while I'm still here at OSU. Which means, this is their last year to do so.

more like our offensive coordinator. Past few years have been ugly.
Tressel started by being able to take down everybody when they had fielded a good team. We've had the capable talent but something is amiss. Pryor still needs more work, and Boeckman was always meh. Pryor doesn't always handle pressure well, and well... not really sure what Boeckman's problem ever was. He was predictably hit or miss.

Yup, we need either a better offensive coordinator or for the one we have now to grow a pair.
That said, Pryor himself has been both the shining star and the weakest link. Part of the issue is the fact that mobile quarterbacks have burnt OSU in the past (Stanley Jackson, I'm looking at you) and there is now a distrust of such QBs when they wear the scarlet and grey (never mind that Pryor actually does run downfield unlike Jackson who spent most of his time going sideways).
The other part of the issue is that Pryor is not yet smart enough (or experienced enough) to know when to just pull the ball down and either run for it or just take the sack. Pryor's interceptions come all too often in cases where he ignores an open receiver and throws into double-coverage or cases where he get pressured and makes a wild throw rather than just getting back to the line of scrimmage.
Some of the recent coaching issues that people are seeing are a result of trying to keep things simple enough for Pryor to manage; while he's clearly a gifted athlete, he's not yet a great leader and on-field decision-maker. In terms of the mental game, I think Boeckman was worlds more mature and I think OSU could have won the bowl game last year if they'd played Boeckman rather than Pryor but I understand a desire to get Pryor more experience.
In any case, if/when Pryor gets more comfortable and learns to make better decisions and if OSU can take advantage of that instead of telling him not to run, then they have a shot at getting a more productive system in place. I think that in some ways the UT game today at least showed a willingness to move more towards a pass-centered offense, though the number of pass plays called was still a bit lower than the number of running plays. Overall, Pryor would make an excellent option QB if the offensive coordinator allows things to develop that way.

I don't know if I can take another heart break this soon. Already two football and a basketball championship lost and then bowl game last year and USC this year.

I think Washington will be in the top 5 of the Pac-10 by the end of the season if they keep playing the way they did.Originally posted by: Whoozyerdaddy

You're not a 2-win Stanford team... You're not a countless losing streak Washington team.
Sorry. You're more like Ohio State if that makes you feel better.
