They can get a share, but who is going to give a share of the national title to a team that lost to CAL? I don't think a team that lost to CAL should be in Division I. Hell, the should have barred USC from playing football for about 25 years because they lost to C-A-L.

USC played FOUR teams with a winning record. Just about all of LSU's opponents had winning records.

Well I guess that's thier only hope...They should shedule better than patsys Like BYU, Notre Dame or Auburn for thier out of conf. games.. Especially when your in the weakest major conference. I'll just say they blew out everyone they played but for cal game...PLAYOFFS PLEASE!!!

I think the Pac-10 is underrated as a conference...

Uh yeah, they dont even come close to carrying the jock straps of the Big 12, Big 10 or SEC, they are close to the ACC and Big East, but both of those have multiple high ranked teams year after year. And well soon the ACC will be as dominate as the Big 12, Big 10 and SEC. The Pac 10 might be under rated but it still trails the other major conferences.

Should have been USC vs. LSU

OU should have dropped lost it in crunch time to a OK opponent

Whatever... USC dropped to Cal and LSU dropped to Florida. KSU is much better than either of those teams. OU deserves to play for the title.

R

You deserve a shot at the title when you've won your conference.

if you go by that, then either ALL conferences should have championship games, or there shouldnt be any championship games.

Absolutely. I'd love to see the PAC 10 pick up Hawaii and SD State or something like that so we'd be able to have one.

It should be the way you said anyway because conferences with championships have an inherent advantage over conferences without them. If the PAC 10 had a conference championship and beat Washington State this weekend we wouldn't even be having this discussion and USC would obviously be #2.

I know you are fairly stupid, but this comment is just idiotic.

I was right yesterday, when I said while an OSU vs Miami matchup would be good, but the Orange would go with Miami vs FSU.

Means K-State vs OSU in the fiesta.

There is NO parity in the Pac-10 it went from 11-1 to 9-3 to 8-5, etc. There is typically two 9 win teams in the PAC-10 a year, and no one in the PAC 10 plays a tough schedule. USC played 4 teams with a winning record.

The ACC is picking up Miami, Virginia Tech, and Boston College. The ACC will also have a championship game when that goes into effect(2004 or 2005 season I forget).

And I said as dominate as the Big 12, Big 10 and SEC. As a whole. Id still rank them Big 12, Big 10, SEC and ACC, but the ACC will be just as dominate as the other 3 on average. This would leave the Pac 10 in the dust IMHO.

My prediction is that Michigan will own them making all this moot anyway.

How can ANYONE take the PAC-10 seriously? They've had TWO people win the National Championship since 1974. SEC has had 6. BIG XII had 7. BIG X has had 4. The new ACC has had 7. I mean c'mon people the PAC-10 is a conference on par with the MAC if THAT.

So? USC lost to CAL and OU lost to KSU. Kansas State beat CAL as well. By your logic KSU you should be playing for the championship. How many winning teams did Oklahoma play? Was is their SOS? Their SOS is much higher than USC, and OU played a lot more winning teams than USC did. USC is lucky to be ranked in the top 10.

Agreed PAC-10 will be relgated to Mountain west and WAC status... Hey but BYU won in 84ish without facing a top 20 team..:p

Cal was also unranked, who also got raped by Kansas State IIRC.

Barely losing to an unranked team is still losing to an unranked team. Losing to an unranked team(that is still unranked at the end of the season) should bar you from the national championship game(barring a playoff system), unless of course you are the only 1 loss team.

Lets face it. USC has a cake walk of a season. OU has the toughest schedule out of the top 3. Sucks for USC, thats how all the cards fall.
