Hi all,
I recently switched to a DLINK wireless USB adaptor (DWA-142) which runs at the N speed as my DLINK wireless router is the 625 N based as well. Before I had an older plain old G based PCI card that worked well. However this new USB based wireless adaptor drops my connection all the time even though it keeps telling me I have absolutely perfect connection strength (excellent).

By dropping a connection I mean something probably that many won?t notice. I play lots of online MMPORG games, which require a crucial connection. If there is a temporary interruption I go link dead. Anyhow ever since I switched to the new USB DLINK wireless adaptor I swear it drops its connection at least 10 times a night for a few seconds. What fixes it real fast is to the "REPAIR" feature in the network connection. It essentially resets it I guess and has the router assign an IP address once again along with everything else it needs to do. I have it set on dynamic IP assignment. I have the router set to not transmit my SSID.

I also have an older wireless USB adaptor from Intel and that bloody thing drops my connections often. It proved impossible to download huge 200 MEG patches as it would never be able to complete them.

Thus I ask is it "easier" for a USB wireless adaptor to drop a connection or is more to do with the USB ports and maybe how I have things set up? If my USB ports are sharing the same IRQ with my audio and say my SATA controllers could this be an issue?

Should I just stick to PCI?
