USB vs Firewire

Just curious to know which would be faster in this situation:
two harddrives, one with firewire/usb2.0 and the other usb2.0 only.
I want to copy one harddrive to the other one via a laptop.
Is it faster to copy firewire to usb or usb to usb? i know that usb has a higher max speed but maybe firewire have a higher sustained rate??? thx
