USB to firewire

Are there any such adapters out there? I have plenty of USB ports on my laptop, but no firewire ports -- I was wondering if there were any adapters out there, or do i have to buy a new pcmcia firewire card? thanks!

2 different things with different specs/speed... so I would say no! At least I have never heard of such thing.

Parallel to USB? That's two different ports, with vastly different speeds and different specs. There are adapters for this.

standard parallel port: 115kBYTES/s (.115MBYTES/s)
Original USB: 12Mbits/s (1.5MBYTES/s)
ECP/EPP parallel port: 3MBYTES/s

Or for USB to PS2. Or USB to seriel. Or USB to SCSI. That's why they are adapters, to adapt one thing to the other. Though, AFAIK, he is correct, there is no such thing in this case.

thanks for the info guys ... looks like buying a new firewire pcmcia card might be the way to go
