Where did you ever get the idea that flash memory has a finite lifetime?
Flash memory has a finite lifetime. About 100,000 writes for low grade flash and a million for higher grade.

I just want to say avoid usb drivers theat dont have a warrenty! I bought an Apacer usb 2 128MB, in September it broke a month ago out of nowhere ,and theres nothing I can do about it. I'll probably get the SanDisk Cruzer Mini as suggested in this thread next or maybe of these.
