OK - I followed your link, and it led to CELL PHONE STRAPS with no apparent connection to USB at all. Have you tried searching lanyards?

lanyards wont fit plus its very similar at the point where you connect to the tiny hole on the usb drive. the amazon link was what they used to give out.. the material will fray and separate after a while..

All of mine have had them.

The only one I see lacking them on the main page there is the Kingston Datatraveller SE9, which has a large hole for a rear grip, so doesn't even need one.

Just buy several of those linked gizmos in bulk, or similar ones. Then, remove the split ring, pull out the knot, tighten it with pliers on the short end, superglue it, push it back in, and add the split ring back (one problem they can have is the knot coming undone).

I get a year or two out of one, using whatever ones UMX/UMEI carried (they're a decent source for oddball lanyard supplies, FYI). Due to that, I haven't gotten any new ones in a few years, now. The ones I have had a solid plastic inner core, sheathed in that black fabric. If you have really sharp keys, you might just not get more than a few months out of one.

If you buy a USB stick with a bigger hole to use, paracord sheath could work, too, and probably would last longer, but the good stuff is going to be about 1/4" wide, flat.
