USB stops working after a while

After booting Win 98 SE my USB scanner is working fine for 1-3 pages, but then it just stops. I've also tried Win Me but the problem remains the same. I have been swithing cables, and tried the scanner on another computer and it works perfect.

If anyone have experienced similar problems and have a possible solotion it would be great.

Scanner HP Scanjet 3300
Win 98 SE
Abit KT7 RAID
IBM 2x30 Gb
256 Mb

P.S. I have also tried a USB printer, and it also shuts off after a while, so there seem to be a bad USB setting or something D.S.

That is not uncommon with USB devices. You just have to hot plug 'em in and out now and then . . . especially after any change.

I had a Tyan Tsunami motherbord that was noted for USB problems. There was a voltage problem at the USB port on the board. Some boards worked fine but others did not. Some boards would work with one device but not two. I can't say that this is the problem with your Abit mobo, but it might be worth searching through the Abit newsgroup using Deja News.
