USB rapid charger for AA/AAA batteries - $9.99 shipped @ DealSonic!

I am missing something here. This thing is just like a solar powered flashlight. You charge your batteries through your computer which is plugged to the wall. Why not get a charger that plugs directly into the wall? And you wouldn't want to plug this thing into your laptop at a coffee shop because you would run out the laptop battery faster.

This is suited for real travel, not just to Starbucks and back. If I have a half-dozen gadgets, each with its own charging cord (or worse, power brick), not only am I stuck trying to find enough outlets for all (usually resulting in annoying plug-swapping) but also I run the risk of losing cords along the way.

With devices like this, along with my usb charging cables for my LG VX8100 phone and Gameboy Advance SP, I only have to worry about finding a single AC plug to charge all my devices, all at once. Think, for example, about the near-fistfights at airport terminals for the few plugs they have. Also think about having to get an adapter for every one of your devices if you travel to a different continent.

And I also can leave the original plugs at home, in a safe place, and not be up sh!t creek without a paddle if one is lost somewhere during a trip.

AND these usually take up less room in your bags than the real AC plugs, just being a USB cable w/no transformer to speak of. My GBA cable is actually retractable like the travel phone/ethernet cables, it's cool.

People like them for a number of reasons.
One: Since the computer power supply already does the AC/DC conversion, less bulk for a USB charger, so lighter and less room taken up.
Two: Everyone has USB ports if they have a computer/laptop 🙂
Three: as mentioned, reduces outlet usage, if you have limited plugs.

Solar powered flashlight? Where? heh.
Actually though there's some flashlights that you shake or windup that arne't too bad to have for emergency. They never need batts.

Just an FYI. 1400 mAh is pretty wimpy as far as capacity for an AA battery. High capacity AA's have about double that. So you'll probably want to buy new batteries. Not a bad deal other than that..........

Crap - it's now on backorder. Had it in my cart earlier and decided to watch the OR game on ESPN, came back and oos. Seemed like a nice travel charger.

Hot even for the charger alone, IMHO... I actually didn't realize the batteries were packed in until I had already clicked "submit order". 🙂 My AAs are 2000-2200mAh.

On a quick Boston sidenote, my brother pointed out to me today that I'm having terrible luck with authentic jerseys from every sport. First I dropped the coin on Lawyer Milloy, and he was in Buffalo a half season later, and now my Johnny Damon authentic is obsolete after my mid-season purchase. He claims he'll be ordering me a Celtics' Scalabrine jersey so I can do the team a favor and keep the streak alive. 😀

Do Detroit fans like me a favor and get a Joey Harrington jersey.😉

A few months back i bought 2 of these to use at work. I have a wireless MS mouse that eats AAs. My keyboard uses AAAs. Alaways have a fresh pair available and these units daisy chain so you only need one USB outlet and you can run a USB drive off the end of the daisy chain.

The batteries are nothing to write home about but they more than get the job done for the use I need.
