USB Racing Wheel 14.99

has anyone used this for racing games? is it worth it and comparable to arcade racing?

gj joker 😉 do u buy a lot of ur own hot deals?

I would have a little more faith in this if they:

(1) would learn to spell
(2) didn't sell their special "utilities"

hold on to those wallets

Thrustmaster most likely, they turned the picture blue to desguise it, probably black, maybe CH. I've seen the sticker on the pedals before, can't remember who.
EDIT: It's a CH of some kind for sure, maybe a EXL-500, the pedals aint too great but would be ok for occasion use.

I think its one of those wheels from those Hotwheels computers for kids. I remember seeing it in a newspaper insert a few months ago. Rember? There were usually two PCs to choose from, either a Barbie or Hotwheels. The Barbie came with a Camera and the Hotwheels came with the racing wheel.

I hope someone else remembers... 🙂

I remember when they had their Fountain Valley store, near Fry's and Costco! They sure had a lot of ...old stuff. I don't see the attraction of a no-name racing wheel. Wouldn't that be like a race driver buying no-name tires or a sky diver using a surplus chute?

alrocky, the difference would be that unlike tires or a parachute, no one's life would depend on the performance of this plastic gaming wheel. well, hopefully anyway.

I purchased one of these the last time the thread come up...January? Maybe December. It arrived no problem, and just took a littl elonger than I cared for. It actually IS blue...I have NO idea who originally manufactured the unit. It does work OK, and if you don't have a wheel already it's a good deal!

**First Post...wOOt!!**

mboy, there are two racing games that are far apart from all the rest.

they are NASCAR4 and Grand Prix Legends.

NASCAR4 and the newly released NASCAR 2002 are as close to really racing a Winston Cup car as you can get without the expense...very realistic sim, and looks great too!

Grand Prix legends is the best reproduction of car physics in any sim in the world..IMHO. doesn't look as sharp (there are graphics updates that the user community has provided that make the game look better), but this game makes me think i'm really driving a 1967 F1 car! thought you might find it hard to get a copy of this one it's a few years old and still can't be topped.

both these games are produced by Papyrus...you can't go wrong with any of their games. all the rest are arcade games.

but....some other racing games i like: Leadfoot; Colin McRea Rally 2; Rally Trophy; Dirt Track Racing Sprint Cars

have fun!

jimbean: Good find. I got them from softwareoutlet for ~$18 with shipping. I wish CG(ComputerGeek) had them earlier. Works very well with Need4speed.

good find jimbeam... too bad the shipping is a little steap, but still works out a little better.... 7.95 + 8.00 s/h (ground)= 15.95 instead of 14.99 + 4.95 s/h = 19.94 🙂

NE1 got a promo code?😉

just bought two of these from computer geeks and postage was $8 for both (total cost of order was $23.90)!! I'm happy!! Thanks jimbeam

Hmm, if you have a local BB, you might be able to find a Saitek wheel for around $20. I'm still waiting for someone to sell the force feedback Saitek wheel in the US.

thanks, jimbeam. I was able to get it AND a slot one cpu hsf combo from geeks for $2 more than the wheel alone at software outlet. makes it a much hotter deal!😎

JimBeam did good! KokomoGTS, there is a Saitek Force Feedback model R440 @ Best Buy online for $80. Is this the one you were talking about? BB also has the Saitek PC Racing Wheel, but it's not USB, for $30. How do these compared to other driving wheels? Is a (say an average) driving wheel a significant improvement over a joystick?

Thanks for the deal, guys. I just ordered one from compgeeks for my 5 year old son. If he destroys it or it sucks, it's no big loss. Sounds like it's a pretty good deal. We'll see when it gets here.
