i was messing around with some clock settings in my bios, boot into windows and my mouse stopped working i figured maybe the mouse was bad or wireless connection wasnt getting through. so i kept reconnecting the mouse and it gave me a USB device not recognized error. Tried the mouse on my other computer and it worked perfectly. Then i tried a wired regular USB mouse and it came up as device not recognized. the laser never even went on as if the port was bad but i got the same "USB device not recognized" message. Well anyways, ive been trying all these bios things in case that messed with it and its still not working. I have the k8n neo2 platinum. Any help is appreciated

By any chance are you using the nvidia utility to change bios (fsb or agp) settings ? If you are ... stop. You can monitor the settings with this utility, but don't change them.

On the MSI board they found that it "corrupted" the bios and affected all the usb ports if you modify bios settings.
The fix was to clear bios and leave battery out, sometimes overnight, and apply defaults. Sooo a bios update could also have cleared the problem.

If that was the problem please verify so others will know too.

I stumbled on this while searching for a front usb problem which they also solved.(extra wire on front panel plug) I hope it helps.

I wish I could take credit, but it was several people on the MSI support forum.

The nvidia utility was the cause if all usb ports went foobar. The extra wire was at fault when the
motherboard headers went but left the back panel working. Clipping the correct wire (they have pictures)
enabled all ports again.
Google for MSI , usb, front and you'll get there for more specifics.
