I recently got a new stick of RAM for my SA6R , it's the same stick as the one i had before a REV 2 Mushkin 128 Dimm... the problem is upon installation, i suddenly lost both USB ports... i've tried reassigning IRQ's... moving my sound card (seems sisoft sandra had my USB sharing irq with 3 devices), still no go,... anyone with suggesrions, i'm gonna reinstall my 815e drivers and then if no go try a reinstall of WinME, after that, i think i'm all out of ideas... = P yes, the USB is enabled in bios and the IRQ for USB is also enabled... i've even gone as far as to disable all miscellanious unused onboard options (midi port, game port, and 1 serial port) to try to free up resources... thanx in advance for any help offered...

update...
INF update wasn't needed and the OS wouldn't install it due to this fact

reinstalling WinME caused a redectection of the USB controllers, but they still don't work right and my linksys 4 port hub still doesn't detect and install, it stays an unknown device... it's not the power because i also put in the hub power cable just in case it was a lack of power to the hub... anyone have any ideas???

When you go into a case it's easy to inadvertantly loosen a connection. Check cpu and sdram seating (make sure the retention clips are fully seated), etc., etc. I once spent 3 days wrestling with OS corruption problems before I noticed that one of the memory module clips had sprung partially open

question...if you take that stick out, does the usb work again? that would help in knowing what kind of conflict there was, or if it was just a loosened connection while installing.

supradude, does your computer ever work right? it always seems broken for some reason or other...

just a follow up, i got a USB card for now cause i still couldn't get the onboard working again,... sisandra says that the device emulation is failing... but my OS does detect the USB ports and serial bus controlelrs, i also have assigned IRQ's for them i had then activated and there were no conflicts... anyone know how i could get the onboard USB back again?
