I plugged in a usb header to my abit kt7 board. When i plug in my hot sync cradle for my palm, windows2000 recognizes that there is a "usb device" but says that the proper drivers cannot be installed. I have tried moving my usb mouse to the new usb slots, but the same thing happens. does anyone know whats going on? i havent hot synced in forever!!! and i don;t feel like unplugging my keyboard or mouse everytime i need to hot sync!!!!

thanks

yes, i checked that. it wasn;t plugged in properly before, and there was no recognition of it by the system. then i turned the plug wround, and now there is recognition, but with the aforementioned problem.

I know this isnt the answer you want buy...

a) USB keyboards have 0 benefits over ps/2 unless you like rectangular pluge for some reaosn
b) USB mice have degraded preformance over their ps/2 counterparts.

Buy 2 USB - ps/2 adapters.

well tuna, the only reason i am using usb stuff is because both my ps/2 mouse and keyboards ports randomly stopped working, so i don;t have much choice. 😛
