first thing that happens after i plug in my printer into the usb:

Found New hardware...

USB printing support....

then the Found New Hardware Wizard pops up...

I click on next...

The wizard will complete the installation for this device:

USB printing support...

i click on next...

says it finds:

c:\winnt\inf\usbprint.inf

click on next

then it says

An error occurred during the installation of this device...

The data is invalid...

i have 2 usb things attached to the back.. my mouse and my CF reader... both work fine...

i attach the printer to the extra usb bracket that came with the mobo...

i tried taking out my CF reader and plugging the printer in that port but nothing happens...

any ideas???

You installed the usb printer drivers? What printer someone may know something? Checked the microsoft kb might have something related.

I'm not sure how to fix it now-

but you are suppose to install the drivers first and then turn on the printer and then attach it to the computer.

You might try uninstalling everything on the computer related to the printer and try again.

I had problems like this also. Do what dug says. First turn off the printer, second choose another USB port and plug the printer in, third install drivers, fourth turn on printer and setup the auto detect device hardware.
