So I have hoooked up my USB OTG but I cannot seem to get access to it. A lot of threads and blogs says to install ES File Explorer, but when I click on that, I get an option to say clear history.

I am supposed to get to /sdcard/usbStorage/sda1/ but I cannot. I have tried using the keyboard as well but nothing seems to work. Older posts speak about rooting (which I would not like to do).

I know they are only read-only, that is fine. I am only storing my movies there. I would like to store them so I can watch them while I get an infusion (it usually takes 3-4 hours).

I called Nexus 7 support and they never heard of it USB OTG

Thank you!

Nexus Media Importer works perfectly for my unrooted Nexus 7. However, people report numerous problems with cheap USB cables. (All three of my cheap eBay cables work fine though.)

My thread on it is here: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2267731

Stickmount usually worked for my rooted Nexus 7, but once it stopped working. I had to uninstall it and reinstall it before it worked again.

I tried the Stickmount but it did not work. I really do not want to root the device.

Do you know about Eye-Fi or maybe a smalled Wi-Fi device (that maybe can recharge / run on batteries) that I can use to hold my movies to play?

Right now, I use the cable that came with the Nexus 7, a USB Gender Changer (converts USB A male port to famel or connects two male to male cables), with a USB Flash drive. I am thinking that it is all the connections.

I'll check the ones you recommended - hopefully one of them will work. I thought TigerDirect would have them but I could not find any.
