USB KVM

I have one... but I refer to it as a turd burgling pile of monkey toss (being polite right now).

I need one that does not do ANY of the following:

randomly switch computers on it's own

randomly disconnect the mouse or keyboard

randomly refuse to switch computers

can anyone make some suggestions? I know my big PS/2 KVM's and even lan based ones, but this USB one is a total mess for me.

Honestly, i prefer PS/2 KVMs, which are what i'd recommend unless you cannot use one.

I use a USB one myself...don't remember the brand but it's pretty generic, but i hate the damned delay you get with switching between PCs that doesn't exist with PS/2 ones.

personally I have been using this Startech USB KVM with Audio between my 2 towers with no issues.(pcs only have not uses it on a mac yet)
I have also used a linksys ps2 kvm with a ps2-to-usb(ps2 to usb) adaptor between a mac and pc, but the only time i had issues with that usb adaptor is at startup, it sometimes did not register the keyboard or mouse and had to unplug and replug back into the mac. aslo it was an old g4 imac
