USB key immune?

😕Thoughts..............
I you are running firefox off a usb key and unknowlingly download a virus can it infect the machine you're using. Can it hop into your machine or is it isolated to the usb key you're running Firefox on?

Basically whatever drives are connected.. ie. the USB key and the internal hard drive of the machine could get infected.

No way to isolate the usb key from the hdd?

Only if you have a way to make it read-only at a hardware level.

If you assume the client machine is infected with a virus that spreads like this, it would likely attempt to infect any executable files on the USB key as well when it is inserted.

Agree with Matthias - also - if you have a good , active AV program, it should trigger the alarm as soon as you connect your key drive.

Why are you running firefox off of the USB key... If the key held all the OS and firefox you might be safe but i doubt u are so no. You can infect the system.
