I have 2 usb ports in the front of my tower n 6 at the back..my front ports do not seem to work...i am pretty sure i did my connection to the mobo right..any idea on where the problem might be? also i think the ports on the back are usb 1.1 n not 2.0..is there a way i can check whether this is true n if it is is there a way i can make this a 2.0??

Thanks

You probably didn't hook up your front panel ports properly. Consult your motherboard documentation for the proper procedure. Additionally, your motherboard manual will tell you if your ports are 1.1 or 2.0, although virtually all moderm motherboards come with 2.0 built in. There is no procedure to convert 1.1 to 2.0, but you can purchase usb 2.0 PCI cards fairly cheaply ($20 or so)

Also check your manual to see where on your bios you can verify that USB2 is enabled. I occasionally receive a MB with only 1.1 is enabled
