USB grounding noise

So I'm usually ok with my onboard audio. But my Gigabyte EP45-DS3L mobo, as well as my HP Envy 15 Beats edition has insane amounts of grounding noise.

I thought the solution would to buy an external USB DAC. So I went out and bought a nice one with a built in headphone amp. But the noise persists through the USB.

I'm quite surprised since elimination of interference of noise is often touted as a big selling point of external DACs.

Do you have cable TV hooked up to the same circuit?

The ground loop must be coming from somewhere... if both machines are making the same noise it suggests something is up with your wiring.

A laptop on battery power & wireless shouldn't have ground loop noise, it's probably an EMI shielding issue not a ground issue.

I don't have cable TV.
I have two other laptops that doesn't have this issue.

I suppose it's an EMI shielding issue then. Any suggestions on remedies?
