I have that exact one. It's not bad, but that's the thing... I never use it. I used it once to try it out... and that was it. Do you really need it? Cause most of the places i go... I just use mapquest. I don't have a laptop i the car all the time, and i don't go exploring places i've never seen before frequently.
well i would like to have it b/c we go on trips a few times in a year and that when i got my laptop. Talcite Do you know if that works with google earth??
can you try it out for me and see if it works? When you tried it that one time did you ever loose signal have truble getting signal,. Did you have any problems with it at any time?
google earth woujld be a nice thing to have if it works with it. if it dont then w/e but if you could pls try it out and see if ggogle earth works with it.
I use a Delorme Earthmate II (USB) GPS unit with my laptop and Delorme Street Atlas USA 2006. Works just fine. But - it is not something you can use and drive a car with safely. It really requires a hands on co-pilot. But, on a river boat trip (Columbia River) is did just great - I could always get the Empress of the North's correct position. But, I don't think it does Google Earth.
thescreensavers, I use MS Streets & Trips daily,as I'm a chauffeur and found it gets me to where I need be.
It's great, especially if you're not familiar with an area.
However, the receiver that comes bundled with Streets & Trips uses an older SirF 2 chip, which I found annoying.
It would lose the sat signal constantly.
What I did, was to buy the Streets & Trips software without their receiver, then purchased there newer SirF 3 chip receiver from:
This receiver has 20 channels as opposed to 12, has always connected to 4-6 sats aqnd always got me to my destination.....and when you're looking for an address @ 4am, this baby delivers.
