I thought this was a pretty interesting concept. It probably isn't practical though, but how many people can say that they have this?

lol, well, I dont think he's beating CD speds yet 😉 3.6 meg in 16 sec is approx 230 KB/sec, about 1.5x CD speed, so a 2x speed CDRW would be better 😉 and somewhat less hassle imho 😉

still, nice feat, i'd like to see him couple 5 16speed CDRW's togheter and raid em 😉

I think his raid was raid 5 tho, seen that he lost about one drive of space, since raid 1 would have cost im half of it and has to be done with even number of drives, raid three would be possible too.
 
he could get close to 10mb on 5 floppies if he'd only use a different floppy format. i used to get almost 2mb per floppy. of course these were only used in linux. for windows (95, 98), i'd used go with the 1.78mb formats. who in the world made the 1.44mb format standard???
