For W98, just about any would do, but the Sandisks have been know to go flaky in W2K. The USB reader will act like a removable HD on your system, allowing you to pull photos off of your CF card without running down the camera's batteries. Very good investment.

I use the Lexar Jumpshot Cable which is only compatible with their Flash cards. It works perfectly under Win98 and 2000. Sure beats hooking up my camera to the PC.:)

Like Maverick319 said, it looks just like a removable storage device so it's very simple to use.

If I were going to buy one, I would buy the ZIO, since it will fit in your pocket. It comes with a 1 meter USB cable, so you can leave that plugged into your system and use the ZIO when necessary.

If you have a notebook, just buy a TYPE II adaptor, stick your TYPE I CF card into it, then install in one of the PCMCIA slots and you will get even faster throughput.

This is what it looks like, and you can usually pick them up at Target B&M for less than 10 bucks.

I put my CF card into the adaptor, stick it in my Notebook and then burn the photos across my network onto a CDR.
