I have a server that is known to be picky with PCIe cards, thus I'm not keen on spending the time trying to find an eSATA card that would work as I need to get this storage attached very soon, and it needs to be permanent for about a year. That being said, does anyone have any recommendations for an external RAID 1 enclosure that has been reliable and supports 2 x 3TB SATA HDD's?

Its more risky higher you go RAID 0 is fine. Youll probably have trouble with RAID 1 unless you buy the best card. gl

Once one goes down all do. Soo it can have its consequences...

Internal drives are generaly more reliable then externals.. "myth" so ,,, Mine is always turned off. Only turn on if I want to make a windows backup image on it. gl
