USB Drive Issues - Help!

Hi Folks,
I have an issue with a couple of USB drives not being fully functional on my Dell Inspiron 9300 (WMCE).

When I plug in the drive it is detected in the system tray and shown in Disk Management.

Each time I try to assign a new drive letter, the PC asks me to restart the system in order for the drive to be functional, I comply with this and it never is!

The drives work fine on other PC's

This all came about when I first attempted to use a Verbatim "U3" USB drive. It was detected but the U3 software would never launch - hence the drive could not be used.

After removing the U3 software on a PC here at work the drive works in the office but not at home.

I've also recently purchased (on BF) a Sandisk 1GB drive - also with U3 installed that is not functional on the Inspiron. (My other Sandisk USB drives (non-U3) work perfectly on my PC)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance 😀

Well, you could try a repair install on windows just make sure you have all the install files for your applications just in case they stop working.

I suppose I could give this ago but as my other USB drives work fine I'm uncertain if this is the root cause?
