Hello all,
i have installed all of the proper modules for using a usbdrive compiled the kernel made a copy of my old bzImage and copied the new bzImage over. I have hotplug installed and running so everything should start up like it did when I had the 2.4 kernel. But whenever I try to mount it:
#mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /usb-drive
it gives me this error:
special device /dev/sda1 not found

anyone have any ideas on this?

Well it looks like no one here uses linux or just didn't want to respond.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I did fix this problem.
It was a problem with the kernel. My system didn't like the drivers compiled into the kernel.
Once I installed them as modules and recompiled the kernel everything worked fine.

Anyone use Linux in these forums??? Just curious.
