Just got a USB 2.0 kit and installed the HD. I get this damn error everytime I try to plug it in to my computer. The damned external case is powered. I tried it on my ABIT NF7 and my Dell 8600. Both are running winXP pro w/ SP2.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Go to the device manager and check the "USB root" properties of your hub.
It should tell you the energy available, default is 300/500mA if it's powered

The device not only needs to be powered, but it must also DECLARE itself as "powered" to the system. Maybe the USB-IDE adapter inside that enclosure doesn't, or needs to be configured (via jumper or software) to do so.
