USB controller cards anyone?

Are all USB 2.0 controller cards created equal? Or will a generic one crap out on me?


Need more ports, found a 5-port 2.0 PCI card for 17 bucks...is it legit?
 
There are only few chipsets for the cards, NEC, VIA, and Texas Instrument. Those I can named off the top of my head. I've used all three. Haven't ran into any problems yet with them.

if you want to go with a name brand one, belkin and iogear.
