Question USB Chargers - Why Ports Color Coded

I understand the color codes for USB data ports define the data transfer rates (e.g. USB 1.0/2,0/3.2/etc.). However, data transfer rate does not apply to a USB charger as it just provides a DC charging current. So, why are the USB ports on a USB charger color coded and frequently are some combination of green/blue/orange/red on the same charger?

Different outputs. Different protocols.
Thanks. Virtually all the color code info I could find refers to data transfer rates and that is very well defined. I could find none that defines the different charging "protocols" for a charger. Since almost all the multi port chargers use color coded ports, it would be useful to know what the color codes mean with respect to chargers.
