USB Charger for Garmin GPS

I think I know the answer but have to ask anyway...........
I bought a Garmin GPS unit.
The battery has about a 2 hour life when using it in the house to set up trips, or just to play around with it to get a better idea how to use it.
I usually plug it into my desktop or laptop to charge the battery,

Can I use just any ac wall plug in usb charger unit to charge the battery? Been a long time since I did any reading on the voltages of charges for usb units and I am assuming I can use any usb charger. I have 3 or more usb chargers that I can use. @ are from my cell phones.

Can I use them, or any other?

yes, any usb charger should work. they're all 5 volts chargers.

Yeah, any 5VDC USB will work. Here is what I do - rather unique, but it really works. I have a venerable Coleman eletcric cooler for treavel, and I remembered that it had a transformer to provide 12vdc via an automotive connector. IOW, I can bring my car into the computer room. It works perfectly with my Garmin and it thinks it is in the car!

Anyway, this lets me run the Garmin using its regular auto power connector and then I can use the USB port to connect to my laptop for database upgrade very safely with no battery use.

agreed with all above. All USB ports are standardized at 5v. However, they will have different max currents which means some USB ports and chargers will charge your device very slowly. I bought about 6 of these and put on all of my wall outlets. Makes my life much easier.
