Hello, All.
I have three pcs in the house, all running WinME (I cannot afford to upgrade to XP yet but saving up).
My problem is, all 3 pcs will not shut down properly when USB devices are connected to them. If I disconnect the USB devices, the pcs will shut down as you'd expect. When the problem occurs, the pc will go black, then power down for a half second, then fire right back up again.
Of the three pcs, two are using Gigabyte mobos (one is an older Super7 model) and the third is using an Asus A7V133. The BIOS is up to date on all three, including the VIA 4-in-1 drivers where applicable. The Gigas use Ali drivers - also up to speed.
I am certain this relates more to ME than the pcs themselves (sheer numbers speak that fact), but I cannot find where the true issue lies within the OS.
I don't think it matters but here is the list of USB devices:
Machine 1: MS Gamevoice.
Machine 2: Gravis Eliminator Pro Joystick & MS Gamevoice.
Machine 3 (ASUS): Sidewinder Joystick.
Thanks for any help you can provide in this matter. And please don't flame me too hard if this is a known issue. I tore the web and this site's search engine up and came away empty-handed. 🙁
