Usb 3.0

Although I can't answer your question I was always curious what's the difference between a USB 2.0 8pin and a USB 3.0 8pin cable... Maybe someone can tell me why you need a case with USB 3 support and not just a regular USB extension cable?

3 and 9 really? I didn't know! Neat, thanks!

I thought they were 8 on the motherboard with 1 sectioned off and the plug itself was 4.

The more you know right??

4 pins and 9 pins on the motherboard are for two USB 2.0 ports typically. The reason the motherboard has 9 pins is to key the connector so you don't accidentally plug it in the wrong way, and only 8 of the pins are active.

USB 3.0 requires all 9 pins.

Lots of cases are gonna have USB3 very soon. You could always get a cheap PCI card to add some USB3 slots too.

This Case Has USB 3. But you would need a Mother Board Like This to take advantage of it. (unless you have USB3 on your backplate and are just going to rout a cable back there...
