USB 3.0 PCI and HD recomendations and opinions?

My MOBO unfortunately is USB 2.0 only, but I'm looking at getting an external USB 3 HD so I believe my only option here is to pick up a USB 3.0 PCI card...

Is this an acceptable solution, I mean do they do the job, and if yes, are there any recommendations?

I have 2 of the Buffalo USB 3.0 PCI card. Been working great for my USB 3.0 devices.

Hmm, PCI is only ~128MB/sec, that board has 2 1x PCI-E slots, so is there a reason not to use those instead ?

I am pretty sure the OP meant PCI-E and I was referring to PCI-E.
