USB 2.0

My computer has USB ports front and back. They are currently USB 1.1. I want to install a USB 2.0 PCI card. The card has pin outs to connect the front ports. Are the connectors the same for 1.1 and 2.0 or will I have to change the front connectors to 2.0 connectors?

If you are talking about the connectors that you plug the USB devices into, then yes, they are identical.

You can just look at the ones on the 2.0 card and the ones on your computer. They are the same.

The connectors are the same. Look to get a card that has pins sticking up on it for them, rather than a normal USB connector insternally, and all should be well.

Before plugging the Pin into the MoBo...make sure the Pin wire colors match as they come in a couple config ways...

1. Front ports generally aren't a single plug, but several
2. No motherboard involved. PCI card.
3. I've screwed it up before, and it won't destroy anything. 🙂

Well the way I read it is the Case has a pin connector that goes to his Card pins ...
Here's the alignment and some people do get lucky 😉
