USB 2.0 Support won't work!!

Ok, I have NO idea how to fix this, and it's bugging me more and more. I have an HP a320n, with 4 USB 2.0 ports. However, ever since I formatted and installed XP Pro, it hasn't worked. When I plug in anything, be it my USB drive or my iPod, it always says I have a Hi-speed usb plugged into a non hi-speed port. I've gone through my device manager, and it says I have the NVidia 2.0 controller installed and everything, but still doesn't work. All my drivers are up to date and everything (checked through driveragent.com). I'm completely baffled at what could be causing this to still not work, and it sucks when it takes 8 hours to move 2 gigs of files to my USB drive 🙁

Did it to me also. I think there is a fix on M$ site somwhere. And then you need to reinstall the drivers. Go to device mananger and delete the usb profile and reinstall. I think thats what I did.

I've reinstalled the drivers with the original manufacturer chipset drivers. No luck.
All updates for the OS are downloaded and installed. Nothing.

When I plug it in, my computer prompts me saying that "This device can perform faster if plugged into a hi-speed port. For a list of ports, click here." I click the bubble and it shows 6 unused ports (thats all the ports on my comp) saying they are high speed. But, no matter which one I plug it into, it will say that. So it kind of KNOWS the ports are high speed, but doesn't operate that way.

I recently upgraded to Windows XP Pro with SP2, all updates from M$'s site.

This problem needs to get fixed... it takes forever to transfer files between my comp and an external HD. Takes about 3-4 hours for a 500mb file!

have you double-checked your bios settings? There might be a setting there where it can be set to hi-speed or full speed. Kind of badly worded as hi-speed is 2.0 and full speed is 1.1

Nothing. It reinstalled all the same stuff as before and now it won't pick up my USB drive.

Is it alright to have 3 USB Host controllers? I have two OpenHCD controllers and one NVIDIA USB 2.0 Host Controller.
