USB 2.0 problem with Windows XP

I tried installing a SanDisk USB 2.0 Compact Flash reader, and I get an error message saying that this device is not recognized. Since I am running XP, no driver is necessary. I went through all the troubleshooting steps, but still nothing.

Help!!

p.s. I have a 6 in 1 USB 1.1 reader that works in the same USB port just fine.
 

XP originally didn't support USB 2.0

Reapply the latest XP service pack and your problem might just go away.
