USB 2.0 not working?

I have service pack 1 installed, the extra USB 2.0 update, and i've tried the "update driver" trick in the device manager to no avail.

It was working a while back, but now it's not. I've reformatted in the meantime and i dunno what else.

could someone help me figure out what's going on?

gigabyte 7vrx mobo
win XP

(usb 1.1 works fine still)

Did you check your bios to see if it is enabled there. I don't know about gigabyte but my asus has option for 1.1 or 1.1+2.0.

i can't find the cds that came with my motherboard, so no...
and yeah it's enabled in the bios

is there any way to do it?

unfortunately, deran, microsoft has their little monopoly on the USB 2.0 scene
so it is not available for download any longer =(

I've had the same problem for over a month on the k75va board, nothing works, even resetting the cmos,
already tried MS drivers, chipset drivers, via drivers, etc.

so who screwed us this time? MS, Via, mobo manufacturers, <sigh> ?

Sounds strange. I just installed a new gigabyte mb and the driverw for 2.0 worked fine for me. They were on the installation disk though.
