Just got my new rig. up and running but for some reason, it seems like the usb 2 drivers are not installed?

I have xp sp2 installed so I'm guessing it should have been installed automatically right?

My setup is
P4 3.2GHZ
2 gig 4200
Asus P5LD2

Actually I believe it does. For instance there are no USB 2.0 drivers that come with my my motherboard. Windows includes its own.

I tried to installed it with the mobo's driver CD but it says

"Please using Windows XP SP1 (Service Pack 1) or later versions, you DO NOT need to install this driver, because they already contain software support for USB 2.0. "

Is there another option other than using the SP1 CD? I'm not sure I can find the sp1 cd.

You're fine its already installed.

What makes you think the USB 2.0 driver isn't installed? Are you trying to use front panel USB inputs with a 2.0 device and getting errors? Did you try the rear USB ports on the MB itself?

hrmm, then how come it doesn't seem like I have usb2.0. When I connect my ext. drive into one of the usb ports, it says that the device is not connected to a Hi Speed port.
I checked under deivce manager and none of the usb are listed as 'enhanced' and I tried transferring files over and it's way too slow to be on usb 2.0.
