I have an internal 5 port USB 2.0 card. It has 4 ports on back and 1 internal. Is there a cable I can buy that will hook to the internal hookup and give me USB 2.0 ports in the front of the computer?

Some cases, like the one i just bought have the usb in front and have the cable coming inside the case. I don't know if you can buy one tho, i'm sure you can somehow.

With my rig there are two cable that go to the front of the case. One for the two front USB 2.0 and one for the firewire. At the end of the cables there are a bunch of pin connectors that go onto pins on the motherboard.

Read your mobo manual, you might have the feature too. If not i'm not sure if there are PCI cards with those pins or not.

i have the usb on the motherboard for the front usb ports and i've had a 5¼ bay taken by a device i bought from best buy but something happened and it doesn't work anymore so i'm thinking something's wrong with the onboard front usb :(

besides i'd prefer usb 2 in the front

:'(

How about something like this: USB Type A internal cable It'll work for both USB 1.1 and 2.0.

These guys (Frontx) market a solution that fits an external 5 1/4" drive bay which this connector is a part of but you can order the connectors/cables individually and use them to connect to the front of your PC case by either modding the case itself or do what I did, modify a plastic panel covering an unused 3.5" external drive bay.

I've ordered several times from these guys, no problems.
