If you wait, I bet you can find similar items FAR (free after rebate). It's an ok price if you don't want to bother.

This is a good deal BUT, I'm using Windows 2000. When I plug my 6 in 1 in, I get four or 5 new removable media drives. It's always fun to find out which one's got the data.

What i did on my sandisk 6 in 1 reader is I renamed all the drives for the appropriate media (Memory stick, CompactFlash, secure Digital, etc.) Works pretty well.

good question.
I used to use an external drive for my smartmedia cards until I upgraded to a Soyo Dragon MB that came with a drive bay card reader. The external I used ran strictly off the USB port. I would imagine this is the same story on this item.

Yep it's self powered on the usb port, and the wire is a nice silver wire 2 and the reader itself is nice and silver and made by FIC

I've been using one of these for about 7 months now and they work great. Don't have a box sliding around on the desk when you plug in a card.

I also can recommend this one. Picked one up a month or so from this supplier. Came promptly and has worked great with the various Windows XP Pro based systems I run including an IBM T23 Laptop. Nice size, self powered and has read all the media I have thrown at it.

Try this, CaseAcc 6 in 1 At PC Club, either B&M or online, black 6 in 1 internal card reader $9.99. Perfect to go along with Sonata (doesn't have firewire ports or ubs 2 ports that you don't need due to Sonata's front panel flip up)

Does anyone know if this supports memory stick pro? If not, how about a manufacturer so I can do some researching?

Thanks.
