USAA customers, check your credit card accounts

When I logged onto my account today I had this message:

"We are canceling this account because of a recent non-USAA data compromise. You'll receive a new card with a new number to use. When you receive the new card, activate it immediately or your current card will remain active for 20 days after the postmarked date on the envelope containing your new card."

There was a link to this website as well http://www.2008breach.com/

Basically Heartland fucked up, so USAA is protecting their customers.

I had the same thing happen with my credit union card a couple weeks ago. I just got a new one. All they would tell me is that my acct # was compromised somehow.

Maybe it just triggered today because there is a suspicious charge on my card. I have to ask my wife about it, but theres a $50 charge to SAL travel. Maybe thats a known thief.

Thanks for the heads up. So far nothing posted regarding such on my accounts, so no suspicious activity as of yet. Will keep tabs on my account though.

Hey, this happened a MONTH ago on my account. New cards in about a week, smooth transition. USAA rocks. They even refunded three transactions that were on my account that they said were fraudulent that I apparently had missed. I love USAA

Might be doing it in phases then. That's a lot of cards that exist. No fraudulent charges on my account. Everything checked out to be legit.

I didn't have a warning but my brother told me over the weekend that he had gotten a notice to replace his card. Thanks for the notice though!
