American vs Canadien Video cards? Who do you think makes better video cards? ATI or nVidia. I'm talking overall quality and consumer friendly.

ATI=canadian
Nvidia=Californian(yes california should be it's own country)

they are neck and neck. No such thing as "Who is better"

Does it really matter to which country a corporation and 51% of its owners pay taxes? As most tech companies, both employ the best talent available meaning many "foreigners", especially for crictical engineering &c. while most manufacturing and assembly &c. is obviously done overseas. That said, nVidia's customers are other companies (so cannot really even enter into a fair "consumer friendly" contest) and their cards seem to vary more in quality certainly than from ATI's retail, if not its partners as well. I don't know if ATI has stricter requirements or what but nVidia seems to allow for more flexibility in quality (especially in the recent past with el cheapo DAC filters).

This thread is pretty ridiculous since we all know it is actually Taiwan that makes all of the best video cards.

The Chinese win this one, almost all the videocards are manufactured in China by Chinese. Most of the GPUs are made by TSMC, a Taiwan company. I'm sure there are a few Indian engineers working for Nvidia and ATI though.

I thought ATI is in the silicon valley. I believe I saw some huge ATI buildings there and I dug thru their trash to try to find some free video cards
